Thank you from Lynn Bentfield
Sale of Lot

Besides the generosity of Ellie and Craft Dryer and Joy Miller I want to acknowledge others:
Thank you to our President Patty for attending many meetings, mostly outdoors and in the cold of last winter, just planning the survey and getting the Planning Commission to pass our plan was a feat … plus she quickly learned Authentisign and had to sign numerous documents along the process, plus countless correspondence to deal with in regards to decisions best for the Club.
Also, Char Taylor stepped in immediately to pay for our power bill so we could proceed in order to update our power, remove the power pole in the way of where the Ness family will build so we could bury the power lines. Also, we will join forces in a ground box instead of the aerial lines all over.  Aerial is so susceptible to tree limbs and weather. She  immediately deposited our lot proceeds check.

Kathy LaTour also had a lot of extra correspondence plus arranging with me to get the electricians in to work on things, and we are not done yet. Electricians still need to ground our water pipes, connect the 2 new power boxes outside with new safety levers … so our building will actually be a lot safer.
It was indeed a group effort in getting our lot sale completed.

What!  Luncheon in the evening, how could that
be possible?!

Your Duluth Womans Club created a new program luncheon, albeit in the evening. Just like our popular presentation luncheons on Friday at noon sharp, we created a new time together on Thursday evening, December 2 at 5:00 pm. Same deal with great food, a must-hear presentation, and friends-meeting-friends at our club house on Superior Street…all for $20.

The Deal:  If you cannot attend during the day on Friday, Diane Kaarbo will present her program, Holiday Décor Hacks, Thursday evening. Beth will prepare a light dinner. And yes, those attending on Thursday night will have the opportunity to make a snow globe ornament for $10 (cost of materials). We must have a minimum of 10 members to offer the evening program. Please make your reservations with Kathy LaTour, by phone (218-724-3168) or via email (klatour@duluthwomansclub.com) but make sure you mention you will attend the Thursday evening program. Need TWO snow globes or curious what Beth’s light-dinner might be? Come to both sessions.

You can do this; just don’t call it lunch!

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, ‘Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.'”
