Keeping you in the loop…..
Keeping you in the loop…..Saturday morning a passer-by noticed what he thought was smoke coming from our building and the strong smell of smoke. The Fire Department was called. The smoke was the normal furnace exhaust, but the smell of smoke was very strong and concerning. The Fire Department determined that there was probable cause to enter the building. Thankfully, no fire was found.
The source of the smoke was from the construction site on Branch Street on the West side of our lower property. The construction company was burning material against city ordinance. The Fire Department talked to those responsible and the fire was put out.
Our building is secure. There was slight damage to a lock in order for the Fire Department to enter, but the damage has been assessed and everything is okay for now. Char continues to check the building. Needed repairs will be made. Patty
