Memories

Spreading love one stitch at a time

DWC members Helen Smith Stone and Candy Adams are featured in this February 23, 2021 story on Fox 21. Northern Lights Machine Quilters Guild members have so far made 60 quilts in their year-long project for children and their families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Northland, which recently opened in Duluth. As Helen shared during the interview: “Quilts are made with love one stitch at a time.”

Helping in the community

Members of the Duluth Womans Club help out in many ways throughout our community. Last June, 26 club members and guests assembled over 6,000 face shields that were sent to Essentia Health. That’s 402 in 15 minutes! Members also raised $1,000 for Safe Haven Shelter for Battered Women.

DWC 2020 Memories Video

The members of the Duluth Womans Club are proving that it’s possible to stay connected during a pandemic! Click on the video to relive recent and past memories from our time together. A special thank you to DWC member Judy Arnold, who opened up her home for a special video session to capture her amazing talent. This video was shared during a special Zoom program on December 18. Watch, remember, and know that soon we will bring the club back to life.

2020 Holiday Program Video

Nothing like the holidays for fun! Click on the video to relive past programs featuring performances by DWC members. The thread through the video is the extraordinary talent of Pianist Judy Arnold. Enjoy, and happy holidays to all!

Bentleyville Volunteer

Claudia Reed, Patty Miller and Bev Cran had a lot of fun when they volunteered last year at Bentleyville.

You could never ask for a better volunteer smile! Here’s member Skip Joynes handing out popcorn in December 2019 when the DWC volunteered at Bentleyville. Click on Skip’s photo to see her photo and other memories of fun times with the DWC members.
